sutto limestone
In the quarries, the height of the limestone walls is 40 meters. For that reason we are capable to create banks for exploitation on many levels. During extraction we pay special attention to our environment and use the latest technologies with the least impact on our environment and nature.
Until 1991 we used explosives to remove the limestone from the soil, but this process harmed the valuable stone material and the environment. Since 1997 we only use diamond chains to exploit the materials, therefore we are capable to quarry larger blocks, with higher efficiency and without harming the nature.

Currently we process the natural stone materials in our plants in Sutto and Urom. In our plants we are capable to produce 120,000 sqm tiles and 500 m3 carved block stones annually deploying machines with the latest technology.
We work not only with the limestone from our quarries, but process granite, marble and limestone from around the world. Besides our state of the art machinery, 50 professional carver works with mallet, chisel and make use of the traditional stone carving techniques and the heritage of Michelangelo.

Our limestone quarries have been exploited for over 2,000 years, in a north Hungarian town called Sutto. The Sutto limestone has been used since the ancient Roman era as a building material. The total area of the Süttő quarry is 114 acres, where the 5 separate exploitation areas have an aggregate size of 22 acres.
Monthly capacity of the five quarries is 500 m3 block stone, available for decorative stone applications. In our quarries, the limestone reserve reaches 7 million m3. This amount of stock can serve us for more than 300 years by maintaining the current rate of extraction.
